Group Counseling

Social Skills Group
This group runs for 8 consecutive weeks and will have a maximum of 6 children between the ages of 9 and 14.
Many children have difficulties making and keeping friendships because of inadequate or inappropriate social skills. Social Skills Group provides children an opportunity to improve friendship skills in a nurturing and therapeutic environment. Group therapy is the preferred method for helping children with social skill challenges. Group therapy allows our therapists to see what the child cannot tell us and what we cannot observe in individual therapy, which is exactly how the child behaves socially with his/her peers.

Couples Communication Group
This group runs for 10 consecutive weeks and will have a maximum of 6 couples.
This group has been useful for committed couples that are married, engaged or separated and want to increase communication and create relationship direction. This may be helpful in building good relationships, resolving conflicts and setting future relationship direction.

Adults Abused as children
Abuse can take many forms physical, emotional, sexual and/or neglect. Usually emotional and physical boundaries are violated and children are threatened or shamed into keeping the secret. There are many reasons why people don’t tell, feelings of shame, self-blame and fear of not being believed are common. But keeping this secret can undermine and haunt you.
The focus of this group will be to explore old family rules of abuse and generate new guidelines for your life. We will talk, write and discover innovative ways to express and heal the wounds from childhood. Moving from victim to survivor to thriver we create a new way of being in the world.
